A rare opportunity has arisen in Bristol, within a chartered accountancy practice offering the chance for involvement in wide ranging, advisory and planning / project work for growth focused OMBs, SMEs and varied limited company clients. Our client is seeking a qualified ACA / ACCA, or suitably experienced Senior Accountant / Advisory to join their close knit team of professionals, offering the chance to carve a career and progress technically.
This well established and highly regarded, chartered accountancy practice, based in Bristol works with SMEs, OMBs and smaller limited company clients and has a focus on growing, smaller to medium sized enterprises looking to grow further, developing long term relationships acting as trusted advisers on wider ranging projects work across accounting, business and tax planning alongside delivering a quality compliance service.
They act for very wide ranging business sectors from professional services businesses through to car dealerships, with turnovers up to £6 - 7 million or so on larger clients. They also have a number of audit clients given the directors earlier background within larger tier firm environment, acting for around 20 audits - charities, groups, subsidiaries solicitors and others. The firm is growing organically with plans for future development and growth.
Joining as a Senior Accountant, based in their Bristol offices, this role would be mixed, potentially as much as 50 /50. The first half of the role will cover an expected hands on compliance element, taking on responsibility for all round accounting, tax and general accountancy practice services to a mixed client base, up into the millions in turnovers. Alongside this, as the other half of the role, you will act as a right hand support to the directors, with involvement in wider ranging project work, taking on planning and advisory projects across a range of accounting/business and tax planning projects. It therefore offers the chance for a recently qualified professional, or suitably qualified by experience professional,to build on this side of their career getting involved in more added value project work, as a key addition and right hand support to the directors. This will be moulded as much as possible to offer work in areas of interest. Therefore, should you be interested to develop on the tax side perhaps, you could get more exposure to tax planning projects across personal and corporate tax, or get involved in business sales and analytical, analysis work on this side alternatively. Or a mix of project work right across accounting and tax. The directors are sounding very open to someone pursuing further studies if they wanted eg CTA etc, so the opportunity offers an excellent chance to carve a career, with some destiny on your own career direction, autonomy and involvement in wider ranging advisory project and more added value work.
