Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Administrator within the University’s Human Resources Department at the King’s Meadows Campus. We are looking for someone whose expertise lies in providing exemplary professional support in a proactive and flexible way.

To achieve our vision of being a responsive team with customer service at its Centre, we are seeking applications from professional administrators whose experience enhances our existing team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a variety of activities.

You will be able to carry out the required duties to the highest standard and to evidence how, through your personal experience and background, you will be able to:

  • Provide proactive and flexible professional support to the HR Department and Senior Team through working seamlessly as part of a team.
  • Provide a professional front-line reception function and high levels of customer service.
  • Support diary activity to ensure the most effective use of time.
  • Manage and priorities a diverse workload, switching between tasks quickly and easily in an agile manner and to tight timescales.
  • Deliver strong team working and communication skills.
  • Use your excellent IT skills.

This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week) permanent post. Normal office hours will be between 9.00am - 5.15pm Monday to Friday inclusive, however, flexibility may be required to support a busy work environment.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You must have a minimum typing speed of 50 wpm, hold GCSEs in English and Mathematics (at Grade C or above) or equivalent, such as a vocational qualification (NVQ2 administration with secretarial skills) or experience of an office/administrative environment. You should also have proven IT skills including MS Word; Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; and ideally advanced typing/secretarial skills (OCR (RSA) Level 3 or above (or equivalent)). In addition, you will have experience of working in a busy office environment, preferably within a HR function and be able to demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, good communication skills and a strong customer focused approach to work.
