Job Description

We are looking for someone with strong experience working in a professional accountancy practice, able to cope with the records of a wide range of clients and able to demonstrate strong skills in the essential duties.

As Senior Accountant your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies using client records
• Preparation and input of period end accruals, prepayments and other journals
• The ability and experience to take client records and use these to produce the end of year accounts
• Interpret and use the output from clients’ accounting systems
• Preparation and filing of VAT returns for clients under MTD
• Bookkeeping including accurate input, agreeing reconciliations and balancing control accounts
• Engage directly with clients as necessary
• Work effectively to meet deadlines

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Be qualified ACA, ACCA or AAT - an exceptional qualified by experience accountant would be considered Have significant experience gained within a practice environment Good understanding of VAT, CIS, PAYE, CT, self-assessment taxes Solid understanding of control accounts Good IT skills; experience with accounting software including Iris, Sage, Kashflow and other cloud based packages
