Job Description

The Role:

Would suit ACA, AAT qualified, or Qualified by Experience, or to a similar level.

Essential duties include:

• Preparation of year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparation and input of period end accruals, prepayments and other journals
• Solid understanding of control accounts
• The ability and experience to take client records and use these to produce the end of year accounts
• Good understanding of VAT, CIS, PAYE, CT, Self assessment taxes
• Preparation and filing of VAT returns for clients under MTD
• Book keeping including accurate input, agreeing reconciliations and balancing control accounts
• Ability to interpret and use the output from client’s accounting systems
• Meeting deadlines
• Happy to have client interaction
• Confident computer skills
• Experience with accounting software packages. Use of Sage, Kashflow, various cloud based packages

Experience with practice software for year-end accounts production and taxation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be someone with strong experience working in a professional accountancy practice, able to cope with the records of a wide range of clients and able to demonstrate strong skills in the essential duties.
