Job Description

Job purpose: Our Finance team is responsible for producing the financial accounts for the Newcastle entity and also for the other UK facing brands managed on behalf of the Group. You will support the Management Accountant and Assistant Management Accountant to produce the monthly financial accounts and support their development.
Aside from the traditional finance role you will be curious about these numbers and understanding our business drivers and using your role to positively influence these numbers will be key to success. You will work closely with leaders across the business and the Business Intelligence Team to be able to identify patterns and trends to help make real data driven change.

Role responsibilities:
 Review and submit the monthly accounts produced by Management Accountants (2 direct reports).

Assist in month end reporting and analysis in collaboration with both the Management Accountant and the Financial Controller.

 Produce reports which cover various factors influencing business performance and be able to understand and identify trends and anomalies to impact positive change as a result.
 Be a financial business partner to the different areas of the business to be able to use data to enable departmental leads to make data informed decisions.

Prepare budgeting and monthly re-forecasting process in collaboration with Financial Controller.

 Maintain and improve our standard monthly processes including intercompany and balance sheet reconciliation.

 Collaborate with the BI team to interpret data and work with the business on improvement as a result.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You will be fully qualified and have a good level of competency to be able to support the responsibilities of the Management Accountant team and to be able to coach to aid their learning and development. You will be curious about data and want to explore what is driving change You will have influenced business change or supported a business project using your finance knowledge You will be someone who is able to review the way we complete our work to see if there are better more efficient ways to complete this work. Ideally you will have management or mentoring experience, but nevertheless you will be an inspirational role model for the team You'll be regularly collaborating with lots of different teams across the business so you will be friendly and approachable You will love learning and be always looking for the next thing that will influence the Finance world.
