To ensure delivery of timely and relevant communications with focus on project and scheme communications. The scope of this role includes, but is not limited to, the duties described below:
To undertake project and scheme related communications, in accordance with the Annual Plan and strategic priorities, delivering within agreed deadlines;
Working with the communications manager and appropriate project manager to assess all planned works, design suitable communications for content across a variety of media and liaise with all required stakeholders;
Supporting the Communications Manager in completing and delivering Communications plans for key projects, working with the Stakeholder Manager in improving engagement with key stakeholders;
Communicating relevant information regarding our works programme on Street Manager where applicable;
Provision of diversion route plans and identifying relevant residents for letter-drops, using tools such as QGIS;
To act as point of contact for reactive queries in relation to schemes, liaising with relevant project managers to resolve issues and provide a customer focussed response;
To assist in the wider communications and campaigns to inform, educate and engage staff, stakeholders, media and the public about the maintenance and improvement of the Public realm;
Ensure that all communications are timely accurate appropriate and delivered in accessible and interesting manner;
Deputise for the Communications Manager in dealing with media enquiries to a working in accordance with Herefordshire Council and Balfour Beatty Group policies and guidelines;
Identify potential risks and issues and mitigate through proactive and reactive communication;
Support the Communications Assistant in creating and delivering digital content for a variety of channels.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The following qualities and experience are essential: Experience of marketing, public relations, communications or a related field; Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills; Self starter with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines; Good understand of positive stakeholder management; Team player with ability to influence and negotiate; Good understanding of the media; Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office. The following qualities and experience are desirable: Experience of working on construction/civil engineering infrastructure projects Relevant communications qualification; Good understanding of the regulatory and political environment in construction.
