Job Description

A vacancy has arisen within the Specialist Medicine Business Unit at Queens Hospital Burton for a Medical Secretary to work 37.5 hours per week.

We are looking for a Medical Secretary Pathway Coordinator to join our Respiratory Secretarial Team within Specialist Medicine Business Unit 1 based at Burton.

Working for our Respiratory Team you will be working alongside other Administration Teams, Consultants and various other clinical staff.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You will require high levels of tact and diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively to enable day to day management. You will have a broad range of administrative skills in particular: Previous experience of working as a Medical Secretary. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. An understanding of the 18-week RTT process. Knowledge of the Trust Patient Access Policy. Knowledge and familiarization of medical terminology. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet and email systems. RSA III qualification or equivalent. Audio typing qualification or experience.
