Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic and positive individual who is able to use their own initiative but can also work well as part of our happy and supportive team. We are looking for a candidate who can perform the tasks below, as well as work under the direction of the Head teacher and the School Business Manager. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

In this job, you will need to have the necessary skills and attributes to:

  • Provide appropriate professional and friendly reception cover and assist visitors, staff and children.
  • Provide admin support.
  • Undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone calls and dealing with face to face enquiries and the signing in and out of visitors.
  • Undertake routine administration tasks and use the RM Integris database system. Experience of this system is not a requirement but would be advantageous.
  • Provide routine clerical support e.g. photocopying, filing, and scanning. Emailing and the completing of routine forms.
  • Undertake word-processing and other IT based tasks.
  • Maintain manual and computerized records.
  • Work calmly and professionally during high levels of demand.
  • Be approachable at all times.
  • Understand the importance of Health and Safety and report any concerns using the agreed systems and protocols.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Essential criteria for the post (to be assessed though application, letter and during interview processes): High levels of written and spoken English. Enjoys being around children. Knowledge of safeguarding children. Experience of general clerical duties including knowledge and experience of various Microsoft IT packages. High level of professionalism. Understanding of the importance of confidentiality. Highly organized. Flexibility / willingness to work occasional additional paid hours, if necessary. Excellent word-processing skills. Trustworthy. Committed to supporting the school with its vision and aims. Adheres to the school’s policies.Excellent communication skills with parents, staff, children and other stakeholders. Able to work using own initiative. Knowledge of Excel.
