Assistant Accountant

Job Description

Your key duties will involve month-end support processes, accruals, prepayments, journals and fixed asset register along with calculating depreciations. Supporting in board pack preparation on Sage, reconciling nominal ledgers, preparing costings sheet, assisting with statement reconciliations and stock/WIP reconciliations. You will prepare weekly cash flows, prepare payments for various companies within the group, prepare VAT, process CIS and subcontractor processes along with sales/purchase ledger support. You will cover transactional finance duties within the team when there are busy periods or holiday support needed, along with being involved in various projects to support process improvement.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be considered for this exciting and hands-on Assistant Accountant position you will need experience within a similar role, strong communication skills to build relationships at all levels along with being able to meet time constraint deadlines and manage workloads. It is essential you have an understanding of double entry bookkeeping processes and have a motivated analytical working approach. Ideally you will be experienced in Sage packages with strong MS excel skills (pivots/lookups) with knowledge of CIS or Subcontractor processes. You will be an AAT/CIMA/ACCA studier or qualified by experience. It would be advantageous but not essential if you have worked within the Manufacturing sector previously.
