Job Description
  • Provide a comprehensive reception service, including greeting visitors to the Academy and ensuring relevant safeguarding checks are made. Including welcoming parent’s queries and dealing with general enquiries face to face or by telephone; taking messages or referring matters to the appropriate person.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and developing the reception and reception area, ensuring the visual displays best promote and communicate the activities and ethos of the academy and ensuring stocks are replenished and best value achieved.
  • Receive and track all goods delivered to the Academy.
  • Distribution of mail both Electronic and Postal.
  • To act as Fire Warden and ensure visitors are accounted for during any emergency. Provide first aid assistance to staff, students and visitors as and when necessary.
  • Be responsible for the storage, housekeeping, returning and/or disposal of lost property.

Social Media & Academy Website

  • Keeping the Academy Website and Social Media up to date and using initiative to promote events and changes accordingly.
  • Promoting events and changes on the sites correctly.
  • Adding additional items when required.

General Administration

  • Production of a weekly newsletter for parents alongside the Head Teacher.
  • Workplace parking levy checks and administration.
  • Work cooperatively as part of the Academy administrative team, covering absence, vacancies and supporting colleagues at times of heavy workload.
  • Enter and retrieve data relating to students onto the SIMS.net database and other software packages as directed. Produce statistical reports from SIMS.net and other database packages.
  • Responsible for monitoring and keeping up-to-date the Academy communication system in order to ensure full effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide general administrative support, undertaking typing, and be proficient in using Microsoft packages.
  • Undertaking any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined.
  • Provide first aid assistance to staff, students and visitors as and when necessary.
