Job Description

The Department of Bioengineering is a rapidly growing department that has consistently been awarded exceptional research ratings, including in the most recent REF assessment (2014), in which 95% our returned research was judged world-leading and internationally excellent. Find out more about our department here, and read more about Imperial’s staff benefits, including generous annual leave entitlements and our excellent professional development opportunities, here: http://www.imperial.ac.uk/job-applicants/staff-benefits/.

Duties and responsibilities

The Recruitment Administrator provides an excellent support service across the whole lifecycle of employment, but with a particular emphasis on the recruitment of new staff. Working closely with applicants, hiring managers as well as the Department’s Research Operations Officer and Research & Finance Manager, the post holder is the first point of contact for prospective and existing staff of the Department. This includes supporting managers throughout the recruitment process and providing a welcome service for new staff that encompasses a full induction. In addition, the post holder has responsibility for coordinating some of the day-to-day HR-related tasks, such as supporting contract extensions and changes.

This is a busy and dynamic role that plays an essential part in the Department’s success and would suit those with a good eye for detail, ability to juggle a fast-paced workload and those who enjoy interacting with a wide variety of colleagues.

Essential requirements

You will:

  • have experience of working with and supporting senior level colleagues.
  • have experience of staff recruitment and understanding HR issues.
  • have the ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision, to deal with multiple and conflicting demands on time and resources, to prioritise workflow effectively, to work to deadlines and show initiative.

The closing date for this post is 2 weeks from the date of posting.
