Job Description

As a Financial Accountant you will provide the accounting support for all businesses in the Cromwell group, defining and implementing new ways of working and maintaining excellent relationships with all stakeholders.

This role will suit an experienced, ideally fully qualified Accountant, with a inquisitive mindset who is not afraid to ask questions and challenge as needed. You will lead a team of three so previous line management experience will be great!

As a Financial Accountant your responsibilities will be to:

  • Collation, preparation and subsequent submission of the month-end accounts, ensuring consistency, accuracy and timeliness of reporting
  • Support all internal / external audit activity throughout the year, through the co-ordination of activities from planning through to the preparation of the financial statements.
  • Work closely with the Group Financial Controller and team members to further develop the financial controls, policies and processes.
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that any differences / issues are identified, reported and resolved
  • Ensure the integrity of the financial records, defining controls, procedures necessary to ensure consistency, accuracy and reliability of financial results
  • Ensure a high quality, effective service is provided to all stakeholders for all accounting activity, working closely with other teams to provide excellent reporting and to support with financial decision making
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement across area of influence, encouraging simplicity, efficiency, ownership and accountability
  • Ensure personal development plans are maintained and discussed regularly, together with ensuring all elements of the performance review process are kept up to date and discussed on a regular basis

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To succeed as a Financial Accountant we ask that you have the following: Advanced Excel skills. Ideally fully qualified. experience of accounts preparation and consolidation will be desirable.
