The Joint Research Office (JRO) in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College is a large team of grant management staff and contract negotiators who support a research spend of over £160 million per annum. This post represents an exciting opportunity to play an integral role in supporting the ground-breaking medical research that takes place at Imperial College.
As a Grants Administrator within the Faculty of Medicine, you will be supervised by a Senior Grants Administrator and report to the Grants Manager, and will develop close working relationships with academic and departmental colleagues at all levels to provide advice on funders’ terms and conditions. In addition, you will liaise with funders and other third parties to build and maintain strong relationships with external parties.
The Joint Research Office is seeking to recruit an ambitious and enthusiastic Grants Administrator to be part of a successful and effective team responsible for providing day- to-day support and advice to academic and administrative staff (post award).
You will have ownership of managing a portfolio of research project grants, which will involve the checking of all costs prior to award set up, invoicing, reconciliation and closure of financial accounts, along with resolving queries.
You should have experience of working in an administrative job requiring strong numerical skills (preferably within the Higher Education, NHS, charitable or related sectors) together with proven experience of working independently and as part of a team. You will have proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, email), an eye for detail and will be able to work to deadlines. You will be committed to the delivery of customer services and have a “can do” approach.
