Job Description

About the team:
We are a Community Mental Health Team for older adults in Croydon. We help people aged 65+ who are living in the community and have a mental health difficulty. We aim to help and support people to carry on living in the community with a good standard of mental well-being.

We care for people with a range of different mental health needs, including:

  • Depression (moderate to severe)
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Dementia or memory loss
  • Other mental health problems to do with mood or mental well-being which may affect daily living.

We also work with people under the age of 65 with progressive memory problems

We are people with a variety of skills. The team includes:

  • Community psychiatric nurses
  • Occupational therapists
  • Psychiatrists
  • Psychologists/psychotherapists
  • Administrators

About the role:
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, have a flexible approach to work, and be able to work with a degree of autonomy. The post holder will provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective administrative service to the multidisciplinary team as well as providing fast and accurate typing skills, with excellent audio and copy typing skills and possess the ability to communicate effectively with patients with mental health problems as well as staff from all disciplines.

The post holder will also need to have a good working knowledge of office procedures including Health & Safety; proven skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; an excellent standard of written and oral English; a good telephone manner; and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.

About the location:
We are based at Heavers Resource Centre, 122 Selhurst Road, London, SE25 6LL

Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2). We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich and Wandsworth.
