Job Description
To assist the Finance Managers in delivering best in class finance support to the division through the provision of accurate reporting, preparation of accurate cost recharges, reporting and support for the purchase ledger team in the resolution of queries and matching of invoices in periods of high volume. Assist at a junior level with new system implementation.
Key Success Measures
- Cost recharges: Preparation of accurate and granular recharges of cost to each of the contracts within the Plant and Freight division.
- Reporting: Distribution of accurate and timely daily and weekly reporting relating to purchase ledger performance, supplier spend et al.
- Month End: Assist in the preparation and reporting of month end performance for the division.
- Purchase Ledger: Prompt payment of suppliers with minimum out of cycle payment and no significant operational issues.
- System implementation: Assist in testing phase of the new accounting system that is being rolled out in 2021.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
- Assist the Finance Managers with the accurate completion of monthly management accounts and group reporting for the Plant and Freight divisions.
- Produce daily and weekly reporting as scheduled by the Finance Managers ¿ including but not limited to purchase ledger and supplier spend reporting.
- Support the purchase ledger team in resolving queries from the business and suppliers. Where required by high volumes assist the purchase ledger team with invoice matching.
- Undertake ad hoc projects to support the business and finance team as dictated by the Finance Managers of Head of Finance.
- Perform a regular Rota of periodic supplier statement reconciliations on key supplier accounts to ensure completeness of costs.
- Undertake monthly balance sheet reconciliations for Plant and Freight (including but not limited to stock).
- Undertake testing of the new accounting system being rolled out in late 2021.
- Support Finance Mangers during the year end audit process.
- Any other ad hoc responsibilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Degree from a credible university at a grade of 2:1 or above/ AAT qualified/ACCA part qualified. Excellent communication skills essential. Strong excel skills essential. Understanding of process, control and basics of accounting and finance. Previous experience in system migration is useful but not essential.
