Financial Accountant

Job Description
Internal control compliance and adhering to the necessary controls to mitigate audit risks; to include knowledge of revenue recognition, goods receiving and 3-way matching, balance sheet reconciliations, IFRS 16, POC accounting and an understanding of their purpose, improving the design and implementation of the controls where necessary
Treasury and cash flow management for all UK and Ireland bank accounts
Liaising with the company financial shared service Centre and providing direction for the accounts payable ledger operations
Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies under UK GAAP, IFRS and FRS 101 for small, medium and large companies.
P11D, Intrastat and EC sales reporting
Assisting the payroll department with processing of payroll where necessary and the posting and analysis of payroll
Preparation of VAT, CIS tax and corporation tax returns
Liaising directly with HMRC and tax advisors
Liaising directly with both local and group insurers and analysis of annual information
Management of the internal and external audits to include the key information required for these audits and the ability to analyze information with autonomy
Analysis of data across all divisions within the company
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
What we are looking for in you: Professional Accountancy finalist or qualified by experience. ACCA /ACA/CIMA preferred. Demonstrable experience of internal controls, management accountancy and financial accounting. Working knowledge of the ERP system SAP is essential. Working knowledge of taxation to primarily include payroll taxes, corporation tax and VAT. Working knowledge of Hyperion is preferable. Excellent excel skills. Experience of UK GAAP, IFRS. Experience of internal and external audits. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work on own initiative.
