Job Description

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role will lead and manage the accounting and commercial finance data, controls and reporting for the leased and owned vehicle assets for the GPL and GPFS businesses. This includes the ownership of the Vehicle Fixed Asset Register and Lease Register.

This role is responsible to working with the operational, treasury and controls teams within the Group to financially optimize the vehicle portfolio this includes:

· Working with funding partners to ensure a fit for purpose funding panel and being the expert on the financial structuring of funder agreements.

· Managing the control environment in relation to vehicle lifecycle reporting and data

· Ensuring the integrity of the ledger, sub ledgers and associated financial reports, including funder capacity reporting.

· Understanding and educating the business and finance teams on the impact of buy/lease/dispose decisions on financial statements including cash flow.

· Working with the commercial teams on tenders and bids when assessing new business opportunities.

· Input of vehicle data and insight into the GPL and GPFS financial forecasts.

· Delivering the residual values reporting and risk assessment

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage and develop a team of 2 direct reports and matrix management across Controlling, Treasury, Vehicle and Transactional finance teams.

· Own the day-to-day relationships with funders, providing management information and leading audits.

· Input of FAR and Lease data into the statutory accounts for GPL and GPFS – Liaising with External auditors dealing on audit matters for the Group on these areas

· Ownership of the FAR and Lease register and associated balance sheet postings and reconciliations, including impairment, additions and disposals.

· Oversee, maintain, and develop the compliance and controls environment for vehicles throughout their lifecycle.

· Own the fixed asset and lease accounting and controls working closely with the Controlling team.

· Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including Board Reporting.

· Lead any FRS developments that impact fixed assets or leases, ensuring impact analysis is completed and required changes implemented in timely and controlled manner.

· Input lease and capex cash flows into the treasury team

· Providing analysis and input into the financial forecast and budgets, including balance sheet and cash flow forecasts

· Own the residual value revaluation process, in conjunction with operations and ensure this is accurately reflected in the financial statements.

· Drive a continuous improvement ethos within the team and function. Working closely with transactional manager and IT

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) preferred (QBE considered). · Detail driven, with experience of working with large data sets. · Experience in a fixed asset/lease portfolio environment an advantage. · Strong data analytics with advanced excel and modelling skills. Access experience an advantage. · Strong communication with experience dealing with operational teams and third parties. · Excellent problem-solving skills. · Flexible approach Education: Bachelor's (Preferred). Experience: Management: 3 years (Preferred).
