Job Description
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the support function of the Group Finance team based in the Group Support Centre. Reporting to the Group Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial and taxation information, ensuring compliance with legal and accounting standards
You will:
Assist the Financial Reporting Manager in the preparation of the Barratt Developments PLC Group accounts and disclosures, interim statements and interim management reports
Assist with the Group consolidation and preparation of consolidation journals
Co-ordinate and review divisional financial submissions for Group consolidation, maintaining instructions and assisting divisions with the process
Work closely with the Group Financial Reporting Manager to prepare and review information for audit committee papers and results announcements
Assist the Group Financial Reporting Manager to develop a response to developments in IFRS, UK GAAP, and other corporate reporting requirements
Prepare subsidiary and JV statutory accounts in accordance with Company Law and UK GAAP including liaising with divisions and Company Secretarial as required
Prepare corporation tax packs and taxation analysis for Barratt Developments PLC and subsidiaries and liaison with professional advisors and authorities. Tagging accounts in compliance with HMRC regulations
Complete and review various reconciliations and consolidations of Group accounting information
Assist other members of the team in the production and review of statutory accounts. Organizing other members of the team in the production of JV stats and HMRC tagging
Reconcile and analyze share-based payment and own shares/EBT information on a regular basis to provide information required for disclosures, calculation of charge and tax
Ad hoc financial accounting and taxation analysis as required

To be successful in the role, we are looking for: Qualified financial accountant (ACA, CA) or qualified by experience. Experience of statutory accounts preparation. Extensive knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS. Good team player. Able to work upon own initiative. Attention to detail.
