Job Description

• Manage all finance operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial accounts and the finance system
• Ownership of month-end and year end close process and reporting including bank reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Co-ordinate the statutory reporting including preparation of statutory accounts, preparation for external audits including timely resolution of audit issues.
• Manage treasury and cash flows.
• Handling VAT, PAYE and Tax duties (including Corporation tax)
• Maintain and file all statutory records for the business
• Effective management and utilization of finance systems to ensure maximum efficiencies are levered.
• Lead on technical accounting issues for compliance including the development and documentation of business and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Building an excellent rapport with auditors, HMRC and company’s bankers.
• Ensure that financial controls and risk management processes are in place and that the key risks are identified, evaluated and controlled.
• Ensure that the organization complies with corporate requirements in relation to audit and risk management.
• Undertake appropriate projects and Finance Directorate initiatives as required from time to time by the Head of Finance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualified Accountant with significant prior Financial Controller experience. Background of working within a Finance department in a commercial organization. Experience in managing and motivating teams with good leadership skills. Ability to work to deadlines. Competent using Microsoft Office particularly Excel. Communication and influencing. Commercial Awareness. Drive for results and change. Excellent attention to detail and organization. Analytical thinking and problem solving. Judgment and decision making skills. Relationship and stakeholder management. Experience: Financial Controller: 3 years (Required)
