The role will include:
Planning and carrying out audit fieldwork, statutory reporting and completion work, along with general accounting compliance work
Leading smaller / medium audit engagements, which will include planning executing, directing, and completing financial audits within the allocated time
Developing audit programmes and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives
Regular travel and time working at client’s premises; a willingness to travel and access to a car is essential
The need to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines set
Dealing with clients at various levels
Preparing accounts from incomplete records
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will have a number of years post qualified experience within a mixed client portfolio role. Experience of successfully leading teams on audit and non-audit assignments. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to deal with people at all levels. A good team player committed to providing the highest quality of service standards. Adaptable to working within the evolving and changing environment that accompanies a growing company. Have a good attention to detail within your work and also good time management skills. Interested in furthering and developing your career within the profession. Experience of planning and supervising a range of audit and non-audit assignments. Ability to review files and report directly into lead partner. You will be required to assist with the development of junior staff within the team assisting with their learning and progression within the business. Able to demonstrate the ability to add value to client assignments by offering advice that helps with the development of the clients business. The role will require you to work at times with minimal supervision. Committed to the growing of the business in the Derby office. The prospective candidate will: Hold or working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA). Have proven experience of working in an Audit & Accounts team in a practice environment. Be a motivated individual, able to work alone or as part of a team. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate: An analytical ability to solve problems and critically evaluate issues. Experience of working with both financial and non-finance people. Strong organization and planning skills and attention to detail. Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Experience of working in a dynamic, fast changing environment. Experience of working on cross-functional teams/projects. Experience of using automated accounting & audit software packages, such as Sage, Xero and CCH products. An ability to produce high level written reports. Advanced excel and word skills. Care for clients and colleagues by anticipating and proactively developing solutions for the client with longer-term benefits. Hold a full & clean driving license, with daily access to a car.
