Semi-Senior Accountant

Robert Half are working exclusively with a growing practice based in Trowbridge to recruit a brand-new Semi-Senior Accountant. This role is an exceptional opportunity for someone with previous experience within an accountancy practice and looking for a step up/progressive role - the company is seeing rapid growth with no intention of slowing down and therefore is keen to employ an ambitious individual that can grow and develop with them.

The Role

This newly-created Semi-Senior Accountant position based in Trowbridge will report directly into the MD and sit between them and the 4 junior Bookkeepers - acting as Supervisor and a mentor. No previous management experience is required - just a keen and open attitude to helping/guiding junior staff.

Key Duties:

• Preparing annual statutory accounts for a portfolio of clients including sole traders, limited companies and partnerships
• Preparing monthly management accounts for a portfolio of clients including sole traders, limited companies and partnerships
• Preparing payroll
• Overseeing 4 junior bookkeepers - checking and monitoring work, training and offering guidance
• Tax returns
• Preparing VAT returns

Your Profile

• Experienced in Sage 50, Xero or Quickbooks
• 2 years experience within an Accountancy practice
• Ability to deal with multiple clients with varied deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT packages
• Keen to progress and ambitious in attitude
