Job Description

We are seeking a Finance Manager with the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to manage our finance functions as well as to be able to cross the divide between financial management and liaison with the wider MJCA team. Due to the size of the business this is a varied role and you will be expected to be actively involved in all areas of the finance and accounting functions including carrying out tasks as well as the management of others. Applicants for full time or part time employment will be considered as, the role could be adjusted to suit shorter working days. The main responsibilities of this role will include:

• Management of the Accounts department and the Accounts team. To include overseeing all aspects of the sales, purchase and nominal ledgers, supplier payments and credit control.
• Managing daily cash flow and forecasting future trends.
• Carrying out reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
• Maintaining external relationships with auditors and the bank.
• Provision of accurate management financial reports
• Preparation of month end and year end accounts.
• Formulating strategic and long-term business plans.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This role will suit someone who is experienced in financial management and accounting ideally gained within a small business environment with excellent attention to detail and good spreadsheet and analytical skills. Other skills and experience such as in human resources, company administration and facilities management would be welcomed and might provide an opportunity for expansion of the role. You will need to be able to balance both accounting and commercial decisions, be self-confident and have good interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication at various levels within the Company and with external parties.
