Job Description

As exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to work for an established and highly successful business transport business and part of a major group. They have an excellent working culture, and career progression opportunities and you will gain full support from the group QHSE team.

The role of the Health and Safety Advisor will support a number of distribution/transport sites and you will work in an advisory role. You will carry out a number of duties including ensuring QHSE compliance across sites with all relevant legislation, maintenance of the Company’s Management Systems and assisting with compliance to OHSAS, 18001, ISO9001, ISO14001 including all corrective and preventative measures.

We are looking for a candidate that will build strong working relationships across site management teams and be present for H&S meetings, providing QHSE support, producing statistics and analysis where required.

You will have a good understanding of audits and coordinate internal audits, assist in BSI audits where required, review all accidents and near miss incidents, and put forward recommendations for corrective actions.

You will be based in Lutterworth and must be willing to travel to other sites. Initially you be working closely with the compliance manager to assess sites, leading towards putting together a QHSE plan. You must be able to manage your own workload; however, you will have the full support of your manager. You will have true ownership of your role, this is not a culture to micro-manage! Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate will ideally have; Experience of working within transport/logistics/distribution/warehousing sector. NEBOSH General Certificate. Full and clean UK driving license. Lead auditor qualification or internal auditor qualification would be desirable. Previous experience within an H&S role in the transport sector preferable. Strong communicator, with the ability to build relationships across the business internally and externally. Must be able to priorities workload. Flexible attitude to working hours.
