Job Description
  • Ability to risk assess and prioritise HR employee relation case work which includes but is not limited to absence management, performance management, disciplinary and grievance.
  • Guide, influence, support and advice managers on low risk case work and identify, understand and implement effective and commercial solutions, empowering management to make decisions. Reviewing all case documentation throughout the process to ensure completeness and both HR and legal compliance.
  • Log accurately and monitor all low risk cases and participate in providing information for weekly case review meetings, identifying and resolving issues as they occur including delays to ensure all cases are closed effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Identify trends, report and escalate appropriately. Maximise the use of systems in place including identifying proactive policy application. Participating in regular case reviews, share information and best practice and seek legal advice where appropriate.
  • Assist the HRBP’s in the review, update and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, guidance and templates to ensure legal compliance, best practice and support the empowerment of managers in HR matters.
  • Working closely with the wider HR team to ensure a joined up service provision, avoiding duplication through improved communication and understanding of HR priorities and processes across the teams.
  • Identify where general HR technical advice is needed to the HR Administration Team if required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
We are looking for someone that will bring a great energy and motivation into HR team, a self-starter that wants to progress within a fast-growing UK wide organisation. Interpersonal skills are vital for this role coupled with the ability to work with a number of people at different levels across the business. Alongside a strong knowledge of HR systems, soft skills such as self-confidence and being persuasive are also important in this people-focused role. We require the HR Advisor to have experience of working across high volume, advisory and investigative projects. Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C and above including Maths and English or equivalent, CIPD level 3 or above is preferred, but essential to the role is previous commercial experience in an HR Advisory role. Minimum of 2 years experience as an HR Advisor You will have a proven background in Advising on lower level ER issues combined with experience of medium or higher ER casework, and experience of TUPE and Trade Unions. Strong influencing skills across a diverse range of employees, managers, cultures and situations are key to this Position. Flexibility regarding both hours of work and nature of tasks undertaken High tolerance of ambiguity Customer service is at the forefront of our business, so you must reflect this in the service you provide to our Business Managers and Employees. You will have impeccable attention for detail, pride yourself on accuracy and be able to multitask with ease with a strong technical expertise. The ideal candidate must be both robust and resilient and be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Ability to work in a confidential environment. Competent IT Skills – Confident user of Microsoft packages, including word and excel.
