Job Description

The purpose of the Finance Business Partners to oversee the day to day running of the 3 JETS (Job Entry Targeted Support) contract finances, provide high quality finance and commercial business partnering support to the Operational Management to improve decision making and profitability. Responsible for the client facing accounts and reporting, validation and verification exercises, construction of internal and external budgets/forecasts and supporting with ad hoc queries/projects as required.

This is an exciting commercially focused role that will be directly involved in the successful delivery of the contract programmes. It offers a good entry opportunity into Maximus UK with excellent future opportunities beyond this role.

What will the role be like?

  • Management of contractual financial reporting, meeting all internal and external
  • (client facing) requirements
  • Business partnering support with operational and commercial teams, working closely with the Contracts Directors to identify trends, actively manage costs and maximize the performance of the contract.
  • Preparation of internal and external budgets and forecasts in line with agreed timetables
  • Understand contract commercial framework and ensure compliance. This includes a cost validation and verification exercise to ensure spend is in line with contract terms
  • Identifying and raising risks/opportunities early along with plans to exploit/mitigate
  • Ensuring financial control and governance procedures are met including balance sheet reconciliations and approvals
  • Managing the demands of ad hoc reporting and projects
  • Work with internal and external auditor

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will hold a ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification. Excellent communication skills at all levels, with the ability to adapt to and communicate with multiple stakeholders internally and externally. Ability to plan and organize workload, working with competing demands and deadlines. Strong commercial decision making and influencing skills. Accurate with a strong attention to detail. Works well in a team, across different functions. Self-starter and ability to work independently.
