Job Description

The successful candidate will be tasked with the lead development, implementation and management of all aspects of the Quality Management System for Alternative Fuel, whilst ensuring full adherence and compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities outlined but not limited to:

  • Manage and maintain quality management systems ensuring they are fully adhered to at all times
  • Manage all aspects of PPAP process, including DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s
  • Assist with the implementation of LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement of products
  • Oversee the daily workloads of Quality Inspectors
  • Carry out regular quality control inspections, audits, testing and Health & Safety precautions
  • Train and mentor engineers, management staff and clients on quality related topics
  • Carry out risk assessments and rigorous testing in order to assess the safety, performance and reliability of potential new designs
  • Liaise daily with the Health & Safety Department to assist with any ongoing roll out of projects
  • Produce 8D’s, written quality reports, method statements and technical presentations to customers, suppliers and senior internal department leads when required
  • Represent the companies Alternative Fuel department for regulatory bodies and third-party auditors
  • Assist with the pre selection process of suppliers based on their ability to perform and meet quality standards and Health & Safety expectations
  • Strive to continue building strong business relationships with internal and external suppliers

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Degree/HND in relevant engineering discipline. Lead auditor trained in IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 essential. Detailed knowledge of PPAP processes essential. Experience working with alternative fuel systems strongly desirable. Possess the ability to coach and mentor staff to exceptional standards. Excellent knowledge of implementing and adhering to LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques e.g., 6 Sigma, 8D, 5s. Thrives on working in a goal driven environment and has proven knowledge of achieving results.
