Job Description

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager the purpose of the role is to effectively manage the sourcing and procurement of a wide range of materials to meet production requirements in line with the company sales forecasts and strategies.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Source materials and/or services required for the current/future needs of the company via appropriate suppliers.
  • Negotiate and establish favorable SLA's, terms and conditions with suppliers for new and existing projects.
  • Report monthly price records and any changes to senior management team and ensure price files and reports are kept up to date.
  • Maintain all necessary computer/paperwork procedures to comply with auditors/insurance assessors and the controlled running of the department.
  • Ensure operating system fields and data input are correct and up to date for all suppliers and products.
  • Approve all invoices and ensure invoice matching system is adhered to. Generate information for credit notes where required.
  • Provide monthly forecasts to suppliers for fixed/variable production volumes based on monthly forecasted demand and/or market trends and conditions.
  • Liaise with Production department regarding purchase unit of measure requirements and specifications for receiving of goods and pack size for use on shop floor to ensure optimum production output.
  • Source components for all tests and trials and work with the Compliance, Regulatory and Production departments with regard to functionality of materials involved.
  • Manage supplier negotiation and performance meetings; maintaining written records of all such meetings and discussions.
  • A proactive member of the NPD team.
  • Manage artwork timelines, approval, integrity and accuracy with all stakeholders. Maintain linking on Navision.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate will be experienced in purchasing raw materials in a hands-on role, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to build long-term relationships. You will be highly organised and have strong knowledge of planning. You will also have excellent Microsoft Excel knowledge,
