Job Description

The school are currently looking for an Inclusion and Welfare administrator to support the SEN department and also assist students in the welfare room. The candidate will be the first point of contact within the SEN department.

Key skills

  • First Aid qualification desirable
  • Good attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills
  • Awareness of legislation relating to student welfare and any issues that might arise
  • Ability to work off own initiative and deal with difficult time sensitive situations
  • Knowledge of SEN and school systems such as Arbor and Evolve.
  • Knowledge of the main aspects of the organisation of a secondary school
  • Experience working with ages 11-16, ideally in a school environment
  • Good standard or numeracy and literacy

Responsibilities

  • Take minutes, prepare agendas and relevant paperwork i.e ECHP reviews.
  • Prepare all paperwork for EHCP reviews, meetings and parent reviews etc
  • Work with the SENCO on LSA timetabling, preparing student resources, gather and analyse SEN information and keep students records up to date
  • Research and order resources for the SEN department
  • Arrange cover timetables for absent colleagues within the SEN dpt.
  • Monitor attendance, assist with locating students missing from lessons, chase outstanding registers.
  • Assist students in the welfare room, following the first aid policy and log all support given to students on Evolve.
  • Assist with admin process related to detentions
  • All other general admin duties, filing, admissions, exam processes etc

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
