Air Freight Administrator
Job Description
The right candidate should be able to work and cope, in a busy environment as this is a demanding role dealing with all aspects of Air Freight documentation. This would suit someone who is flexible with great organisation and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responding to calls and emails or booking request from clients, agents or other representative.
- Handling quotes and bookings for consignee routed cargo as requested by agents or shippers.
- Coordinate pickups and provide timely quotes for inland as well as air freight costs that are available in the system
- Prepare and provide documents to customers in accordance with terms of shipping standard and the operating procedure.
- To be responsible for the daily checking of all Airfreight collections and deliveries and post flights and ensuring that clients are kept informed of any deviation to the agreed schedule
- Raising sales invoices and checking purchase invoices received from the various Airlines and filing away the finished Air Freight files.
- Arranging payment of freight and other chargers or collection of payment on behalf of the client.
- Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight.
- Working closely with other departments to deliver high level of customer service
- Perform other duties as assigned by Line manager. .
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience within the freight forwarding industry.
- Educational GCSE or equivalent with English
- Be fluent in English and one other foreign language.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good planning and organisation skills.
- Basic ICT skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Be able to work under pressure
