BANK OF ENGLAND - TECHNOLOGY DEVISION
The Technology division manages and supports all aspect of technology delivery across the Bank, from maintaining critical systems which underpin the UK economy, to providing big data analytics, implementing comprehensive cyber security programmes and introducing innovative solutions in support of a digital workplace.

Technology's key objective is to support all other areas of the Bank in achieving our collective mission to promote the good of the people of the UK by maintaining monetary and financial stability. This is achieved through the delivery of appropriate, high performing, resilient solutions and information services across the organisation and externally.

Technology is structured around a simple operating model: Analyse-Deliver-Service-Secure. This model ensures transparency and effectiveness in our delivery, prioritisation and cost base for IT services and promotes close working relationships with colleagues across the Bank so that we can all deliver with pace and agility.

THE ROLE OF A WINDOWS SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
The Bank has a requirement for an experienced Windows Admin to join the Infrastructure Group which is involved in the standards, development and maintenance of a number of systems across the organisation. The resource would work under HCI team structure reporting to the Team Leader/Service Owner Working on a Mixture of BAU / Continuous Improvement works.

The recruit will be assigned to BAU and tickets Incidents and Work Orders, BAU Improvements and projects work on a rotation basis every 2 months. BAU will be primary focus for a period of time to gain understanding of the estate, including any support of the daily meetings and service management support around any service impacting tickets.

Candidates must have experience of administering Windows 2008, 2012, 2016, SCOM, SCCM any exposure to AZURE or automation toolsets would beneficial. The work will be mixed and varied and will include working closely with HCI windows team, infrastructure team leaders, and application owners.

Key responsibilities include, and are not limited to:
* Investigate SCOM alerts for servers
* Investigation on dashboards to learn about thresholds alerts on servers
* Capacity Management across the estate
* VDI Support, Analyse the performance of both server and VM's using tools available
* Windows server administration & support skills
* Active Directory, Group Policy
* Problem Solve complex issues & IT problems

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:
* A solid background of experience in Windows and VMWare administration.
* Solid experience of installing, configuring and administering Windows Platforms using best practices
* Proven track record of working and configuration of servers using CIS standards
* A proven track record in administration within a highly professional environment
* Process Documentation

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
* Candidates must possess excellent technical skills, good analytical, problem management and interpersonal skills,
* Ability to work successfully under pressure. They must be dedicated to the tasks undertaken and be committed to providing a quality, reliable and efficient service to the stakeholders.
* They should be able to demonstrate a structured approach to work as well as being able to deal with people professionally at all levels.
* They must have excellent customer facing skills for liaison with application database owners and end business users.
* Exposure to Cisco HCI - Hyperconverged

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
* There may be a requirement to cover an on-call rota, working evenings or weekends
