Job Description

Understanding of our customer demographic in order to drive the conversion rate and value per visit. Successfully develop strategy to progress the platform and maximize sales turnover.

Role Responsibilities

  • To be able to see the bigger picture, shape strategy, grow the web channel, as well as being able to implement change successfully
  • Identify investment opportunities in order to develop and enhance the customer experience
  • To ensure compliance of the website(s) with all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Work with the Buying and Marketing teams to have in place a compelling customer offer and effective promotional calendar to drive the sales of our core product categories - Cards, Gifts & Wrap
  • Establish an efficient production process which expedites product sourcing to merchandising live on the site in the shortest time possible
  • To ensure home page banners & promotional landing pages are aligned to store campaign look & feel
  • To ensure taxonomy/site architecture is optimized to make the customer user experience easy and intuitive – products are easy to find – conversion increases
  • To manage email, social, SEO, and any other appropriate programmes to maximize revenue
  • To work closely with external agencies, printers and suppliers to ensure process is optimized to deliver a great experience for our customers
  • To track supplier performance and operate zero tolerance for failures/dropped orders
  • To work with suppliers and Buying team to source appropriate artwork and photography
  • To ensure offers/promotions are tested and set up in advance of live dates
  • Able to administer the platform on a day to day basis
  • To manage a team and provide leadership and development
  • Any ad hoc duties commensurate with the role

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Sound knowledge of the techniques and practices related to online merchandising and retail. Website management experience. Proven expertise in customer experience management, customer acquisition, retention and conversion, multi-channel and mobile. development, search engine optimization, ecommerce development platforms & merchandising. Familiar with the company CMS platform. Experience with Google Analytics. Methodical and able to put in place effective process management. Ability to communicate at all levels and across all functions within a medium sized business. Budget management skills. Experience of managing and developing teams. Excellent verbal and written communication. IT literate. Excel capability essential. Good organization skills. Keen attention to detail. Good use of initiative. Can work at pace. Resilient with a ‘can do’ attitude.
