Job Description
The Financial Controller has overall responsibility for leadership of leading the day to day running of the company’s Finance, Purchasing and IT functions. The Financial Controller will be part of the Senior Management Team supporting the board to formulate business strategy and will hold the post of Company Secretary.
TheFinancial Controller will be responsible for:
o monthly and Year End accounts,
o rolling forecasts and
o budgets including working capital forecasting
- Fixed Asset and Inventory Management
- Develop departmental analysis/monitoring and creating opportunities for profit and cash flow improvement
- Assisting with taxation including Corporation Tax, VAT, R&D Tax Credits
- Audit preparation and liaising with group auditors, tax specialists and bank CID facility
- Manage product costing systems, supporting price setting and the monitoring of product profitability
- Supporting the business to deliver its strategy through the provision of high-quality information and data analysis
- Setting departmental objectives including KPI’s and Innocence to Excellence and supporting the SQDCP principles
- Liaising with the Group finance team for business reporting and group wide initiatives
- Planning and delivering IT systems that allow the business to achieve its potential
The Financial Controller will have experience / qualifications in:
- Accounting standards and regulations
- Excellent MS Office 365 skills especially advanced knowledge of Excel
- MRP systems and Sage Accounts 50
- Leading a team and setting departmental objectives
- Sage Payroll and audit experience is essential
- Understanding of HMRC - all business and employee areas
- Business Partnering - being an active member of the senior management team to provide and advise on information to assist the departmental managers in controlling and improving the performance
