Job Description

You will be working 16 hours per week on either of the two permanent contracts:

  • Wednesday and Thursday from 17.00pm to 01.00am.
  • Saturday and Sunday from 09.00am to 17.00pm.

You must be flexible to cover shifts when required 7 days a week, which include 17.00pm – 01.00am, 01.00am – 09.00am and 09.00am – 17.00pm. There is a requirement to work overtime and weekends during our busy periods.

The rate of pay is £9.10 per hour.

The initial responsibilities of our Night Concierge:

  • Safeguard, patrol and monitor premises making sure that all areas are kept secure and no intruders can get into the premises.
  • Checking building and acting as a deterrent to potential thieves and to detain any individual if caught in the act until police arrives.
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • To use a radio or telephone to call police or fire in case of an emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Inspect property to protect against fire theft vandalism and illegal activity.
  • Open and lock the gym and communal areas according to the agreed timetable.
  • Complete onsite reporting paperwork.
  • Must show good judgment and common sense.
  • Monitor CCTV for any suspicious activities.
  • Sign Study Inn Visitors in and out of the building.
  • Manage post and parcels and distribute to the correct students.
  • Attend to minor maintenance issues.
  • Ensure that all Study Inn rules and regulations are followed by students which includes confiscating items not allowed on the premises.
  • Complete cleaning tasks during shift as per line manager’s requirements.
  • Empty waste bins as per line managers requirements.
  • Anything else from time to time you may be asked to do.
  • Ensure that you follow our policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate for the role of Night Concierge will have the following experience: At least 1year experience in a previous Security or Hotel Hall / Night Porter role. Experience of working in an accommodation environment such as a Hotel. Excellent customer service skills. Clear communication skills. Fluent in another language (not essential but would be an advantage). Impeccable presentation. An outstanding cando attitude and the desire to work as a member of a team. All candidates must provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK to be considered.
