Job Description

The overall aim of the e-Health Directorate is to deliver and maintain a comprehensive integrated information technology and health information strategy in order to ensure that the right information is provided in the right place at the right time, to support highest possible levels of diagnosis, treatment and care of patients and clients, to support continuous improvement of the health of the populations we serve and to achieve more effective integration between Health and the care services of our Local Authority partners. Operations / Strategy and Programmes / Information Management / Business and Resource Management and Health Records who are responsible for the delivery of Health Records services across NHSGGC, including outpatient reception, emergency departments, admissions, scanning hubs, referral management Centre’s and medical legal requests. You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to support effective clinical care by providing efficient administrative, clerical and receptionist services within the pediatric wards. You will provide a reception service for patients and visitors arriving within the ward. You will answer telephone enquiries, taking/relaying messages and providing information and maintain electronic and paper based patient records systems providing confidential, accurate and up to date information.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will maintain patient demographic and administrative data through continual checking and updating of TrakCare patient management system. and provide administrative support to facilitate the patient’s progress through their care pathway. Personal responsibility to ensure that all duties are undertaken in accordance with the data protection act, Caldicott guidelines and local policies regarding confidentiality and access to patient health records. Knowledge required to undertake the role will be established through relevant in-house training relating to processes and procedures, TrakCare patient information system and stock ordering system with expectation of performing at a fully competent level within a specific time period (tbc). Previous clerical/reception experience. Previous experience of working with the general public in a customer service environment. Good organizational and communication skills. Keyboard skills. Proficient use of computer systems.
