Job Description

You will be part of a two people job-sharing team and required to work on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesday one week and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the next and so on, between 11:00 – 19:30. As part of the role remote working will be possible at times due to COVID restrictions at site.

This opportunity is available immediately and is initially a temporary role for 12 weeks with a possibility to become a permanent.

  • Dealing with the internal warehouse team to make sure information is accurate
  • Liaising with Vets to make sure paperwork is accurate
  • Overseeing the loading and sealing of the vehicle
  • Taking responsibility for and carrying out all administrative duties which support the central logistics function
  • Dealing with customs and in particularly TRACES NT and TSS (Trader Support Service)
  • Completing online custom forms, including custom declarations
  • Maintaining a good level of communication with customs, Port Health Belfast in particular
  • Handling requests for information
  • Working closely with other departments
  • Supporting with all other ad-hoc administration duties as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous experience in an similar administrative role. Experience in dealing with customs and in particularly TRACES NT and TSS (Trader Support Service) would be advantageous but not essential. Some food Technical knowledge would be advantageous but not essential. Intermediate or advanced IT skills with all MS packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Confident user of email and Internet. High levels of typing accuracy and proof-reading ability. Excellent time management, planning and organizing skills. Extremely articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional telephone manner. Assertive with ability to manage internal and external contacts with diplomacy. Strong interpersonal skills. Persuasive and able to influence at all levels. Warm welcoming manner and ability to deal with a wide range of people.
