Job Description
- To lead in the development and delivery of our LGPS GAP propositions supported by our Head of Benefits Consulting and Head of LGPS Project management.
- To provide strategic, policy and operational advice on all aspects of good governance to our clients.
- To work flexibly and collaboratively in the Actuarial Public business unit within the Governance, Administration and Projects team, making decisions and acting to meet the needs of the Business Unit as a whole.
- To work as part of the Public Sector Leadership team supporting the development and delivery of the business plan
- To act as a role model at all times and champion the firm’s four core values.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Identifying market needs and ensuring that solutions to meet these needs are integrated across all three propositions;
- The management of these propositions’ commercial performance and profitability;
- The delivery of a strong pipeline and conversion, of new business and account development in relation to these propositions through consultative selling and through formal tender processes;
- Maintaining excellent client service through the delivery of these propositions
- Specifically, developing and bringing to market a compelling Governance proposition to meet the needs of the LGPS
- Ensuring that all processes and risks associated with these propositions are efficiently and effectively managed in line with industry, professional and firm-wide standards and policies
- Developing, communicating and implementing the strategy and business plan for the Governance Administration and Projects team in alignment with the wider Business Unit’s strategic goals and objectives
- Building professional networks with LGPS clients and prospects
- Speaking and active participation through networking at conferences.
- Ensuring effective communication between the GAP team and the rest of the Business Unit
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Educated to degree level or equivalent. Relevant professional qualification advantageous. Working background of creating, implementing and reviewing corporate governance frameworks. Successful track record at senior management level. Proven successful strategic and commercial leadership and thinking. Proven consultancy and network building skills. High level of reporting writing skills including strategy and policy documents. High level oral skills including delivery of formal presentations in public settings to both inform and influence. LGPS or Pensions knowledge advantageous. Local government or wider Public Sector knowledge advantageous. Strong leader with an open and empowering style. Determined and decisive, highly motivated and robust under pressure with a strong commitment to high performance. Ability to build collaborative relationships and partnerships internally and with clients at all levels of seniority.
