Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality and Technical Administrator to start as soon as possible to work with both our UK and oversees technical teams. Experience in a similar Quality role within FMCG is desirable. The role requires a good team player who can work across departments in a methodology that provides an all-encompassing support to the trading teams. You will be confident working as part of a team with our QC Manager here in Glasgow and with remote teams.

  • To assist in making sure our products are safe to use and 'fit for customer purpose' and meet our customers’ expectations
  • To assist in ensuring we are fully compliant with all legislative requirements
  • To assist in ensuring that we do this in a way that supports the critical path timelines (e.g. for new launches).
  • Contributing to the on-going development of the Technical Standards
  • To assist in assessing products with respect to safety requirements
  • Assisting in any testing that is needed for the above and ensuring that technical documentation and specifications are completed on time
  • Administration of our packaging and drop test requirements along with waste packaging criteria
  • Assist in ensuring that full audit trails are managed for all products and legislative requirements
  • Assist in making sure that any issues are resolved promptly in line with our critical timelines
  • Working closely with the Merchandisers and Buyers to assist in making sure that the technical tasks are completed in line with the critical path
  • Working with a range of suppliers to assist in ensuring that any remedial work is carried out effectively and promptly (for new and existing products)
  • Experience of working with Far East suppliers, accredited product testing laboratories or specialist industry services would be an advantage.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Experience in an Administrative QC position desirable · University Degree · Good communicator with both QC staff and service departments · Be flexible when needed, working with the team to provide a service to the department · Experience working with suppliers in the Far East desirable · Must possess competence and drive, be personable and confident · Knowledge of the retailer’s standards desirable · Experience working with furniture or hard goods would be highly beneficial
