Job Description

The Centre is now developing the team to drive this exciting agenda, including the recruitment of a Finance and Business Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Centre’s key functional areas, specifically including financial management, resource, procurement and all contractual matters in support of S5GC’s mission.
They will work with the University of Strathclyde finance team, who as the host of the Centre, manage the funding cycle and provide regular reports. The Finance and Business Operations Manager will take these reports and analyze them to support the CEO with strategic planning and keep the senior team clearly appraised of any issues that need to be considered.
The Finance and Business Operations Manager will drive an aggressive recruitment programme working with the University of Strathclyde’s human resource team and be responsible for coordinating the Centre’s activities in respect of recruitment, induction and an ongoing performance review programmes. Additional services and skills may also need to be procured. The Finance and Business Operations Manager will lead how this will be done in compliance with the existing University of Strathclyde framework and work with the university procurement team to conclude contracts in support of the Centre’s delivery programme.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The Centre needs to ensure that all legal agreements with project lead organizations are in place regarding funding, intellectual property rights and governance. The post holder will manage this process and ensure that all engagements that the Centre has with external parties are on agreed terms.
