This Finance Assistant will sit within the Management Reporting, With-Profits Support team and will contribute to the achievement of one or more of these outcomes in order to deliver the vision for Finance.

This is a 7 month fixed term contract opportunity and will begin working from home and then have a blended work pattern from home and from either our Craigforth or London office.

  • Runs the organization’s processes and systems following pre-defined procedures
  • Adapts to change, responds with initiative and make suggestions for improvements to own work and processes

Key responsibilities for this role:

The role offers the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of Actuarial work supporting the management of the With-Profits products, including:

  • With-Profits Management (including bonus setting).
  • Development and maintenance of claims and projection bases
  • Monitoring and analyzing bonus smoothing costs and compliance with target ranges for with-profits claim pay-outs
  • Process investigations, improvements and/or project support
  • Helping ensure customers are treated fairly

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Highly effective communication skills, both written and oral. Ideally previous experience within an actuarial team. Able to disseminate quality information to internal and external stakeholders. Able to develop a broad base of relationships with key contacts across Finance and with key business stakeholders. Strong experience of using Microsoft applications, in particular Excel and VBA.
