Job Description
  • In-depth research into existing and new markets, products and services, liaising closely with all three business units to gather and analyze sector and customer data
  • Analyze market trends and forecasting data to inform the business’ strategic direction, operational plans and shape new services.
  • Research and analyze internal and external industry information from governments, statutory agencies, policy and industry think-tanks and forecasting companies
  • Become an expert on the target markets and support positioning for projects as well as opportunities to form consortia at the earliest opportunity. Share knowledge with other interested companies and our staff.
  • Secure sufficient information about opportunities to help to assess the viability of the opportunity (Does it have political support? Could it meet our investment criteria? Could we be competitive?).
  • Develop and maintain insightful competitor analysis
  • Investigate and maintain a pipeline of future key opportunities via opportunity trackers on BAM’s CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics) to provide detailed business information to leadership team
  • Provide regular analysis on trends, markets, industry, opportunities and competitors
  • Analyze and develop the business information offering, drawing on multiple data sources to produce visual representations of key findings
  • Provide data and reports to support Board and Senior Management reports and presentations
  • Provide support when required to the wider bid management team

This role will be a largely office-based role. However there will be a requirement for occasional travel within the UK, Ireland and potentially internationally, sometimes requiring an overnight stay.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A forward thinking individual with an interest in data and research, with the ability to analyze and draw conclusions. Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to relate well to people from all backgrounds and levels of seniority. Highly numerate with the ability to organize and analyze large sets of data and to produce engaging and insightful reports that are easily understood by colleagues and management. Experience of working in investment, construction, property or facilities management would be beneficial. Experience of working in a similar role would be an advantage. Knowledge and understanding of the infrastructure investment market (including PPPs) would be an advantage. Knowledge of Office 365 suite of products, Excel, SharePoint and Microsoft Dynamics CRM would be beneficial. Degree educated ideally (or with a relevant professional certification) in an appropriate field (e.g. construction/engineering and/or finance/legal/management). Strong personal values that align with BAM PPP’s vision and values. Pragmatic, results-driven and agile. A team player who is self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
