Job Description
Manager of the day-to-day accounting function, assisting the Financial Controller in providing financial leadership to the business and clear structure and direction to the management accountant team. Primary responsibilities include preparation and analysis of the financial report, reconciliations, internal and external reporting, working capital and cash control.
PRINICIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Managing the month end process and the preparation of accurate and timely entity (UK, Sweden, South Africa, Netherlands, USA and Italy) and consolidated monthly management accounts reporting against KPIs, budget and the latest forecast, together with any other information required by the board
- Payroll processing
- Cash flow forecasting
- Managing the preparation of statutory annual accounts
- Managing the preparation of tax and other regulatory submissions including VAT
- Day to day management of the management accountants team
- Supporting preparations and a lead contact for audit
- Supporting the Financial Controller (Business) in the forecasting / budgeting activities as required
- UK and Overseas Tax compliance reporting including PSA, R&D and Permanent Establishment.
- Ad hoc duties as assigned by the FC and FD
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Delivering results. Objective orientated. Detailed / focused. Influencing. Problem solver. Strong time management. Of graduate caliber & a qualified chartered accountant with a hands on approach and the ability to work within a small but multi-disciplinary team. From a blue chip/corporate background with a pedigree of working within a SME growing business. Experience of manufacturing / engineering businesses would be preferred. Good experience in managing teams. Able to demonstrate a strong background in financial management, systems & process development. Flexible approach combined with attention to detail and an excellent work ethic. Strong communication skills. Excellent excel skills. Good team player who is willing to learn and develop with the role, on new assignments as they arise.
