Job Description

Our growing Financial Services client is recruiting for a Mortgage Portfolio Analyst, responsible for analyzing and approving mortgage portfolios assisting in the New Lending Underwriting decision

  • Analyze Portfolio Business cases, Cash Flow statements and property schedules to ensure they meet the requirements of the Portfolio credit policy.
  • Approve or Decline Portfolio leading cases in line with Portfolio approval mandate.
  • Make recommendations to the new lending team to support underwriting decision of portfolio properties.
  • Communicate potentially complex financial information to non-finance professionals within the New Lending team.
  • Adhere strictly to department policies and procedures, challenging any gaps identified and providing recommendations for change.
  • Contribute in the achievement of departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) KPIs ensuring we maintain the ability to demonstrate we are meeting our TCF obligations.
  • Adherence to key department Service Level Agreements (SLAs) ensuring work is actioned in line with SLA’s to a consistently high standard.
  • Proactive engagement with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the business.
  • Review sources of industry guidance and best practice in order to keep abreast of changes which could impact Buy-To-Let Portfolio Lending and provide recommendations to Line management.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining own CPD (Continuous Professional Development) folder ensuring it is kept up to date.
  • Adherence to the company’s training and monitoring programme including Anti-Money Laundering/Financial Crime, Treating Customers Fairly.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred 3 years’ experience within the mortgage (Buy to Let Preferred) or financial services industry, however applications from other candidates will be considered. Technology skills – Advanced MS Office Skills, in particular Excel, covering Pivot tables, Macros and advanced Excel Formula. Experience of full mortgage life cycle and the associated risk layers. Experience of working as part of a small team and make effective contributions. Ability to work under pressure whilst paying close attention to detail. Mandated decision making. Proven experience analyzing large and complex data sets.
