Job Description

This is not a role for a first move out of Practice and requires experience of working in industry.

Responsibilities will include:

• Full responsibility for preparing, reviewing and submitting the quarterly management accounts within timely deadlines
• Responsible for preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts across the full group in line with the quarter end timetable
• Preparation of timely and accurate quarterly group consolidation
• Preparation of quarterly board pack with detailed analysis and supporting data
• Supporting with all statutory audits and reviews
• Support and prepare cash flow forecasts
• Support the Finance Manager in the running of the finance team and work towards a succession plan
• Supervision of accounts assistants, responsible for overseeing their daily tasks, mentoring and coaching. Supporting assisting with developing their technical knowledge
• Excellent team work and communication skills aligned to the Linear values
• Ability to work with and an understanding of contract accounting and accounting with quantity surveyors.
• Managing work in progress and ensuring contractual payments are made on time

Monitoring costs on projects and highlighting any areas of concern.

• Supporting the CEO and Commercial Director in preparing budgets and forecasts
• Knowledge of COINS system is preferable but not a requirement.
• Experience of development appraisals would be preferable but not a formal requirement.
• Promote a continuous improvement approach to business policy and processes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates must bring a strong academic background and are CA, CIMA or ACCA qualified with at least 3 year’s post-qualification experience in industry. Experience: Financial management in industry: 3 years (required)
