Job Description

• Programme Director, reporting directly to the Finance Director, the purpose of this role is to lead a programme of change that will support a Railway for the next phase of its evolution of putting passengers and freight users at the Centre of its priorities.
• The role will act as the main agent of change for the Finance Director in delivering a programme of improvement across the Finance function’s activities including business planning and performance reporting, financial management, capital investment, governance risk and assurance, and, property.
• The role will support those Directors in their own plans, ensuring they are coordinated, maximize opportunity for improvement and reduce the demands and bureaucracy on the wider business.
• Programme Management space, restructuring of the finance function and leading a programme of work reducing cost across the organization

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Extensive experience in a senior management role. Experience of delivering strategic change programmes covering a budget of over £10m. Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise programme and project managers on their projects in relation to the programme. Demonstrable knowledge of programme and project management approaches. Strong commercial focus and financially astute. Educated to degree level.
