This role will provide you with the opportunity to play a key role in the team that will ensure standardization of Quality tools and techniques across Naval Ships and education to the wider business. With this role you will be exposed to many opportunities to grow within this ever-expanding part of the business as well as the wider BAE opportunities.
Your main responsibilities as a Lead Quality Engineer will involve:
Leading team members with effective people management across all areas of quality
Delivery of business training e.g. quality tools, sigma focused
Leading business wide audits across various functions with a focus on improvement
Leading Quality Investigations ensuring robust report writing upon completion and effective verification
Leading and delivering major business projects and change programmes inclusive of supporting team members in their application and outputs
Delivery of milestones and objective to plan in line with due date performance and creating metrics to support this
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experienced in the application and ability to train others in Quality tools and techniques such as histograms, control charts, pareto charts etc. Broad understanding within the areas of quality assurance, product assurance, quality control, quality management and third-party management. Knowledge of management systems, including ISO9001 and their application to projects. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor trained. Experience in project delivery including right first time. People management experience. Experience of Shipbuilding. Experience of working within a large, complex, matrix engineering led organization Background within manufacturing or heavy engineering. You will be driven, adaptable and self-motivated with good communication skills. You must have good communication skills both verbal and written.
