Job Description
Enhancing quality is a strategic objective for the business and we are therefore looking for an Operational Excellence Manager to undertake activity to help achieve this. We need someone who is an expert in driving change and has a track record of delivering tangible improvements in policy, process and information governance. This role is perfect for someone looking for the opportunity to make a real impact.
Primary accountabilities
- Ensure all relevant polices and processes exist across the organization
- Directly own policies and processes related to operational excellence and continual improvement
- Drive awareness and educate the organization on relevant polices and processes
- Ensure adoption and compliance with polices and processes across the organization
- Drive policy and process organizational learning and improvement
- Guide and govern the internal management system
- Maintain relevant certifications (e.g. ISO standards)
Day to day tasks
- Govern the information published in our management system
- Provide regular updates to the business on any changes to polices and processes
- Review policies and processes with business owners on a suitable frequency and ensure updates are made
- Carry out internal audits on a weekly basis to ensure compliance with processes and highlight where there is nonconformance and areas for improvement
- Escalate cases to the management board where corrective action is not being taken
- Regularly meet with representatives from across the business to share ideas for improvements to ways of working
- Utilise management information already produced by the business (e.g. project reporting, service reviews, lessons learned) to identify areas for improvement across the organization
- Monitor and highlight quality, security and health and safety breaches and drive corrective actions
- Produce monthly reports on quality KPIs
- Ensure and assure legislative changes are monitored by the appropriate business owner
- Manage the relationship and required activity with external auditors and certification bodies
- Support tender responses and customer requests for information on our policies and processes

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will have persuasive approach and understand how to implement change and drive adoption. You will be a great facilitator and have excellent communication skills including listening, presenting, and writing. You must be curious, driven and action orientated with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment. You will need to be tenacious, have the ability to break down complex problems and build relationships. A high level of quality focused experience. Internal audit capability. Knowledge of relevant legislation. Competent in a range of supporting business applications. Qualifications highly desirable: Prince2. ITIL. Lean / Six Sigma qualifications.
