Job Description
  • The Senior Manager will be responsible for the direct reports of the team and its deliverables, holding regular meetings to identify issues, discuss solutions and encourage them to be proactive in identifying potential efficiencies and new revenue opportunities.
  • Manages own portfolio of transactions, taking on the on-boarding of the more complex transactions, including the preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts, preparation of annual statutory financial statements and preparation of group consolidated statutory accounts.
  • Calculating effective interest rates of financial instruments.
  • Ensures the timely filing of the financial statements and financial reports at the appropriate body and if applicable to the appropriate stakeholders ensuring compliance with IFRS or UK GAAP.
  • Understanding the transaction documentation and ensuring it is adhered to.
  • Supports other teams in the London office with answering complex accounting matters and queries, if applicable and where necessary.
  • Manages in close cooperation with the other team in the London, the necessary financial aspects of specific transactions (incorporation, liquidation, migrations, closings etc.).
  • Ensures the presence of a client service oriented culture by timely (24h) responses to client requests, personal attention, complaint follow up and monitors the professionalism in communication of team members with clients, colleagues and intermediaries.
  • Reviews the output of their direct reports before it is sent out to a third party.
  • Assists with reviewing the financial statements prepared by clients themselves.
  • Liaising directly with auditors and managing audit process to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manages the ixbrl tagging process, ensuring their accuracy before submitting to the tax agent for filing with HMRC.
  • Preparation of tax declarations to UK tax authorities (VAT, P11D assistance, CIS, Intrastat, EC Sales List).
  • Communicating professionally with clients, their banks and other third party providers to source all required information.
  • Continual assessment of procedures and controls and implementing process improvement as necessary.
  • Liaise with outside Tax Advisors ensuring corporate tax returns are completed and filed timely.
  • Assists with the reviewing of client invoicing and invoice breakdowns before sign off by the Director to ensure appropriate chargeability and proper invoicing.
  • Ensures own time and that of the direct reports is recorded on a daily basis to ensure appropriate chargeability.
  • Attends meetings of prospects and intermediaries in order to present my client and its services. Participates in business trips for visiting existing clients, intermediaries and new potential clients.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate execution/verification of client payment instructions in accordance with client agreed upon procedures.
  • Responsible for associated transaction monitoring according to the group internal policy.
  • Responsible for the management of client banking accounts and necessary banking administration.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Solid knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS102) accounting standards, including IAS39 Financial Instruments Disclosure. Relevant experience within an accounting or corporate services provider environment. A highly credible individual with intellectual ability and a hands-on approach. A high performer and with a proven track record of delivering results and demonstrating leadership. Excellent English language skills. Understanding of VAT and experience in preparing and submitting VAT returns. Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, both within finance and a multi-disciplinary setting. The ability to be flexible and pro-active in meeting the ever-changing requirements of our clients. A strong desire to exceed expectations. The ability to prioritise effectively in order to meet conflicting deadlines within the context of a demanding workload. Desire to continuously improve and streamline processes to make a meaningful contribution to the company's performance.
