This is a busy and varied role and will require a candidate to be attentive, well focused and able to work with a good level of autonomy. In addition to this some of the responsibilities that will be involved are as follows:
Preparation and negotiation of tenders
Assist colleagues with the submission of tender proposals
Preparing take offs and measuring quantities
Using technical drawings to take measurements
Managing sub-contractor and supplier quotations
Collating tender reports
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate will ideally be degree educated in either a construction or quantity surveying discipline and have previous experience as an Estimator within the construction industry. We are looking for someone who has a wide range of project experience that will ideally include, substructures, ground works, bulk earthworks, sewars & attenuation structures. In addition to this, it is important you can also demonstrate the following: Experience of estimating software. Ability to work to often tight deadlines. Able to communicate effectively and confidently with clients, all members of staff and sub-contractors amongst others. Experience of pricing for large contracts and values.
