Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to join underwriter as a Credit Controller on a 12-month contract. You will be responsible for the collection of outstanding inward premiums, sending monthly statements, undertake face to face meetings with brokers, liaise with the credit control manager, and other ad hoc duties when required. Well suited to candidates with a good background in credit control ideally gained.

• Contacting customers on a daily basis by telephone/letter/email to collect outstanding balances
• Ensuring customers pay on time and prompt collection of arrears
• Negotiating re-payment plans for outstanding balances
• Following up on customer queries and resolving same
• Resolving any billing and payment issues
• Delivering a high level of customer service
• Support other team members and managing required tasks when members on leave
• Working continuously to KPI’s and set targets
• Any other ad-hoc duties as deemed appropriate
• Developing a broad understanding of all the company products, services and business objectives
• Flexible work ethos

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• The ideal candidate will have at least APA Qualification and working towards CIP Qualification
• At least 1-2 years experience in a customer service or credit control team dealing with the general public
• Accounts experience, whilst not a prerequisite, would be an advantage
• An understanding of commercial decision making
• Previous experience of working in the Personal Insurance Industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong initiative and ability to work in a busy fast paced environment

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Highly organised and be able to work on own initiative
• A positive, innovative attitude with the ability to handle new assignments and projects with an open mind
