Job Description

The successful candidate will work as a member of the Safety Team and have the opportunity to lead a variety of projects, which may typically include the following examples:

  • Occupational safety legal compliance audits and inspections, including developing tailored legal registers and prioritized action plans.
  • Legislation-specific (e.g., COSHH, PUWER, Working at Height, Manual Handling) risk assessments and provision of compliance-focused recommendations and support.
  • Occupational hygiene monitoring and risk assessments for a wide range of industrial and commercial sector clients.
  • Provision of on-site occupational health and safety advisory support.
  • Provision of training courses, seminars and workshop for operators and managers.
  • Provide marketing and business development support, identifying new clients and opportunities, to support the growth and expansion of the firm.

The successful candidate will work within a supportive, friendly and driven team, contributing to meeting team sales targets.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
BOHS accredited degree, or Honors or Master’s Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, environmental health, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related subject. Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation and requirements. Graduate membership of IOSH and working towards charter ship. It is also preferable that the successful candidate shall possess one or more of the following: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in occupational hygiene monitoring, e.g., air monitoring for hazardous substances, conducting occupational noise assessments, carrying out thorough examinations and tests of local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems. A minimum of 3 years’ experience of practical application of occupational safety consultancy or technical practice within industrial and/or construction environments. Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the application of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the development and practical application of occupational health and safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, HSG65 etc.). BOHS qualifications and experience in relation to Local Exhaust Ventilation Testing and Design (e.g., BOHS P601, P602, P604 etc.). Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene, or working towards attaining this. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to demonstrate personal initiative, motivation for the role, project management skills, good customer management skills, and good written and presentation skills. However, lengthy demonstrations of these points at the application stage is not required. These aspects will be discussed in detail at interview stage. The candidate will also: Be proficient in Microsoft Office Professional software packages. Have a full U.K. driving license and clean driver record. Have a valid passport.
